It looks like there’s quite a bit happening in Addlestone and the surrounding Runnymede area today, January 29, 2026.
From local safety updates to community events at the library and theatre, here is a snapshot of what’s going on:
📢 Local News & Health
Hospital Update: Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals recently stood down a Critical Incident that was declared earlier this month. While pressure on the Emergency Department has eased, they are still asking visitors to stay away if they have symptoms of coughs, fever, or stomach bugs to prevent infection spread.
Flood Awareness: A flood alert was recently updated for the Windle Brook and Hale, Mill, and Addlestone Bournes. While many warnings in the region were removed today, it’s worth keeping an eye on water levels if you are near the local brooks.
🎭 Community & Events
The Addlestone Centre: If you’re looking for weekend plans, a family pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty is showing this Saturday, January 31.
Addlestone Library: National Storytelling Week is kicking off soon. The library is hosting African animal tales storytelling sessions and various “Lunar New Year” and “Winter Olympics” crafts for kids throughout February.
The Light Cinema: New releases including Kangaroo and Primate are hitting the screens tomorrow, January 30.
🚗 Travel & Roadworks
Ongoing Work: Expect some delays around the Woking and Chertsey borders due to infrastructure works for new housing developments. Temporary traffic lights and minor closures are active on several “A” roads in the area.
